Way V; or as it’s spelled in Chinese Wei Shen V, is the Chinese sub-unit of SM Entertainment’s NCT (Neo Culture Technology).
They are signed under SM’s Label V, and officially made their debut on January 19th, 2019 with the first album “The Vision”.
As NCT was always known for being a multicultural Kpop group, WayV is the Chinese version. The members also hold different nationalities. Yes, they do!
Kun, Win Win and Xiao Jun are Chinese. Hendery is from Macau, with a Chinese nationality also. Lucas is half Thai and half Chinese. Although Ten is ethnically Chinese, he was born and lived in Thailand. And last but not least, the youngest member Yang Yang is Taiwanese.
On January 17, WayV released their first digital EP, “The Vision”, with a Chinese version of NCT 127's "Regular" as the lead single. You can check it out if you haven’t already.
As on the 24th January, they release “Dream Launch”, a full of passion song where they declare the launching of their dreams into the outer space together and express how much they want to be brave and achieve their goals to arrive at the top.
While on 21st February, they announced the starting of their self-producing project called “Rainbow V”.
It was where they revealed their true talents and showed their passion for music.
Ten and Win Win have choreographed and performed “Lovely” by Billie Eilish and Khalid.
Kun and Xiao Jun arranged and exhibited the song “Red Bean” by Khalil Fong.
Lucas, Hendery, and Yang Yang choreographed a hip-hop dance and freestyle to “Wow” by Post Malone.
This brilliant and skillful group haven’t stop amazing their fans since then, they even had some appearances on Chinese TV shows as a group and individually too.
As they are now ready to Take Off with their new song “Take Off” that was released today the 9th May 2019.
With their powerful beats, amazingly written lyrics and strong performance, the MV turned out to be a masterpiece. Where they were able to show the unique and mighty style that only WayV is known for.
