Nam Joo Hyuk is YG Entertainment's next rising actor



Nam Joo Hyuk is a Korean model-turned-actor born on the 22nd February 1994 in Busan. He made his first appearance as a model in 2013 under YGK-Plus. He showed up in AKMU’s “200%” and “Give Love” who are under the same label YG Entertainment as well. And as for his 188cm height and attractive beauty allowed him to enter the world of acting and succeed in his career as an actor whom everyone loved and admired.



Starting with his first supporting role in 2014 on tvN’s drama “The Idle Mermaid”, where he was a computer genius named “Park Dae Bak” residing the Surplus House. His most memorable role was the one in “Who Are You: School 2015” along with the actor Kim So Hyun and BTOB’s Yook Sung Jae. He appeared on this KBS’s drama as a main role, where he was a great swimmer focusing only on his passion and preparing for the competition, but ended up falling in love with his childhood friend. At the same year, he featured in the MV of Kang Nam and San E, “Chocolate”.

In 2016, this young actor went again to play supporting roles in two different dramas, from the college romance series “Cheese in the trap” to the historical series “Moon lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo”. After that, in the same year he co-starred at the well-known drama “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo” beside the actor Lee Jae Yoon and the actress Lee Sung Kyung and Kyung Soo Jin.



Moving on to another type of series Nam Joo Hyuk starred at in 2017: Here comes the fantasy romance drama “The bride of Habaek”, where he had the role of the narcissistic god of water, who had to visit the planet of earth in order to find the three stones that will make him claim the throne.

Following all this, last year marked his big screen debut with the historical movie “The Great Battle” which made him win Best New Actor accolades at the prestige Blue Dragon Awards.



Nam Joo Hyuk is also set to star in Netflix's upcoming supernatural crime drama “School Nurse Ahn Eun-young” in 2020. Throughout his rising career, Nam Joo Hyuk won Best New Actor Award six time through his career as an actor until now, and one Rising Star Award.
