Ji Chang Wook has successfully fulfilled his mandatory military service and is ready to steal hearts again!
On April 27, the 31 year-old actor was released from the Cheorwon Artillery Brigade in Gangwon Province after serving his full military period to find a massive gathering of fans and reporters alike who were waiting for him in order to celebrate his military discharge.
Upon the news of his release, Ji Chang Wook was asked to express his feelings regarding the completion of his military service. The actor replied that he still hasn’t grasped the situation at hand, and that he might finally come to terms with it the following day.
Addressing his fans, Ji Chang Wook expressed his feelings of nervousness for meeting them after such a long time. He also announced that he will be coming back with new works in the future and he gratefully asked for their anticipation and support.
Following his recent military discharge, the actor has already been approached with a handful of casting offers. He is so far considered for leading roles in “City of Stars,” a new space drama directed by Jang Jin, as well as an upcoming romantic comedy on tvN entitled “Please melt me.”
The space drama “City of Stars” is about two men who have always dreamt of going to space, and find themselves selected to join an astronaut training project. The drama is set to be aired in the second half of the year.
The second drama “Please melt me” focuses on the story of a man and a woman who took part in a body-freezing project for 24 hours, but due to some peculiar happenings, they end up being frozen for 20 years. When the pair wakes up, they find out that they have maintained their physical appearance from 20 years ago, while everyone around them has considerably aged with time.
Ji Chang Wook’s upcoming works have piqued the interest of fans and the general public alike. Furthermore, after being away for so long, Ji Chang Wook announced his first post-military fan meeting, titled "Invitation: Late spring, early night" which will take place on May 19 in Seoul.
