Discover Red Velvet’s charms.

Of course, Red Velvet are already well-known everywhere in the world; but we guess that being famous is not all that you need to know about them.

Don’t miss your chance to discover their charms!

Red Velvet are apparently a Korean girl group who debuted in 2014 originally with four members: Irene, Seulgi, Joy and Wendy. As it was SM Entertainment's first girl group in five years since f(x).

If you didn’t know before, their name has a special and beautiful meaning. The first part ‘Red’ means the cute, pure and feminine side of them, the second part ‘Velvet’ is the fierce side and though one. Which they mix together giving their concepts a dual and special flavor.

They debuted on the 1st August 2014 with their first digital single; ‘Happiness’. Where they showed their desires to be happy for being themselves as their wishes to share happiness within people and inviting them to throw their worries away, as there is no chance for sadness to take place in their lives.

The MV was a bit ‘weird’ and too much ‘colorful’ as some people said, but oddly satisfying to see some of SM Entertainment’s new and unique style.

Yeri; the fifth member and the youngest was added later in 2015 through SM Entertainment’s trainee program; SM Rookies. She made her debut with Red Velvet’s ‘Ice Cream Cake’.

As the genre of the song was described to be Drum and bass and a dance-pop.

It was were they showed another side of them, being sweet and soft as a red velvet ice cream cake with their pastel-colored dresses and adorable dance moves.

Red Velvet's first full album; ‘The Red’, was released on September 9, 2015. And with a total of ten tracks with the title song "Dumb Dumb".

The album was an immediate success and climbed into charts; including Billboard and Gaon, just days right after being released, as it gained positive reviews by fans.

And again, with the unique style of Red Velvet, in the MV they acted as if they were dolls having fun and playing together, acting feminine but never losing their tough and strong side.

Their music releasing chain continued between 2016 to 2017 with their 2nd mini album, The Velvet. Followed by their 3rd extended play Russian Roulette, that was at the same title track and the track that also peaked at number two on the Gaon Digital Chart and Billboard's World Digital Songs chart, making it their highest rankings on both charts at the time.

Rookie, was their following mini album with the title track named ‘Rookie’ also. Always blowing their fans’ minds with mixing the ‘Red’ and ‘velvet’ sides at the same time, giving it the meaning of a concept that only Red Velvet can mater.

The Red Summer right after, was a special extended play with the lead track ‘Red Flavor’ full their catchy lyrics, joyful beats and a rhythm just like what we were used to.

Marking the end of 2017 with the releasing of Perfect Velvet in November, with ‘Peek-a-boo’ as a lead single. With a bit of dark and mysterious concept finally, but still their shiny and glittery rainbow-colored outfits. And a mix of up-beats and R&B music.

The Concept was a bit hard to explain, fans were already confused after watching it, asking why would the five girls practice killing at that house?

The lyrics were simply talking about growing up a little faster to become a perfect version of themselves. Their duality eventually tricking people and confusing them

2018, The group released The Perfect Red Velvet, on January 29. As a reissue of ‘Perfect Velvet’.

It included five new tracks in addition to all the songs from Perfect Velvet, with the single ‘Bad Boy’ promoting as its title track.

Once again with the dark and sexy concept, "Bad Boy" was primarily an R&B song with elements of hip hop that has a synth melody and heavy bass sound.

Its lyrics describe a relationship between the titular bad boy and a cold, fierce woman. Simply, a ‘girl-crush’ concept if it can be added.

Back again to their super shiny and bright concept.

On August 6, Red Velvet released their second summer special EP Summer Magic containing eight tracks, including one bonus track and one iTunes exclusive special audio track. Its lead single "Power Up".

With the catchy chorus, ‘Ba-banana, ba-banana na na na’!

RBB was the fifth Korean EP by the South Korean girl group Red Velvet.
It was released on November 30, 2018. With the lead single "RBB" and five other songs including an English version of the title track.

With a ‘girl-crush’ concept nearly same as ‘Bad Boy’, red velvet continued their success achievements on charts inside and outside Korea.

“Red Velvet also score their first No. 1 on Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart with RBB's title track.” As it was said on one of Billboard’s articles.

The album was a commercial success both in South Korea and overseas.

As in 2019, on June 19.

Red Velvet released their sixth EP, titled The ReVe Festival: Day 1, including the lead single "Zimzalabim" and it was the first entry of The ReVe Festival trilogy.

Where the five girls were inside an amusement park, singing the Zimzalabim the magical word that one would say to complete a trick like, just same as abracadabra. The magical word is comprised of 3 names of the trickster demons.

Followed by their seventh EP, The ReVe Festival: Day 2, with its lead single "Umpah Umpah" on August 20. Showing their cute dance choreography and catchy rhythm and more pink-ish MV.

The song’s lyrics says it all,

“Just follow the heart

I like it

Fly above the horizon

Umpah umpah umpah umpah

Breathe together

Umpah umpah umpah umpah

Look each other in the eye

Umpah umpah umpah umpah

You and I Like it

Something unforgettable”

Still waiting for the final album of The ReVe Festival trilogy, that was confirmed to be released later this year.

Promise you will never get tired of the variety that Red Velvet shows, revealing their charms to trick you and fall in love.
