BLACKPINK proved to be the revolution at Coachella

As we have all proudly witnessed, K-pop is spreading globally by the minute. Starting as an intriguing musical genre that appealed to millions of fans around the world, K-pop later grew to gain the attention of global musical events, charts, television shows, and even celebrities.

BLACKPINK is one of Hallyu’s hottest artists both inside Korea and out, and they are mostly known internationally as the “Queens of YouTube” which is notably due to the incredible YouTube views they have garnered for every MV they have released so far.

It goes without saying that BLACKPINK’s worldwide impact has opened doors to the US market, which is one of the hardest music industries to infiltrate. Furthermore, the quartet managed to land an invitation to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, which is an annual music festival held in California that hosts a rich lineup of the most popular musical acts of our time.
BLACKPINK’s performance at Coachella on April 12 served as their official US debut. During the 32-minute set, the girls performed a various tracklist combining their old and new songs: after opening the show with “DDU-DU DDU-DU” and “Whistle,” Jennie took to the stage with her “Solo” release before the ladies performed their latest hits “Kill this love,” “Don’t know what to do,” and “Kick it.” Throwing back to their previous releases, BLACKPINK followed with “See U later,” “Playing with fire,” and “Boombayah” before concluding the night with “As if it’s your last.”

But that’s not all. After their successful debut US stage, BLACKPINK made sure to stay and mingle with the attending and performing celebrities. YG’s pioneer girl group surely captured the hearts of many artists at Coachella, and many of them declared themselves to be proud blinks!

Some of these artists are Diplo, who has previously worked with YG artists G-Dragon and CL. Ariana invited the girls backstage after spotting them at her set, and Will and Jada smith openly showed their love for BLACKPINK. Billie Eilish shared a girl crush moment with them, and Khalid grooved to the music alongside them, as you can see in the video below.

We can safely say that BLACKPINK are having the time of their lives as their career continues to prosper on a global scale, and it’s only a matter of time before they come to your area!
